(a) (1) With the license application, the applicant shall submit a petition signed by at least 10 residents, voters, or property owners who: (i) have not signed any other petition for a license; and (ii) live or own property in the vicinity of the place for which the license application is made. (2) The petition shall state the full name, residence, or property owned of each person who signs the petition. (3) Each person who signs the petition shall certify that the person: (i) has been acquainted with the applicant for more than 1 year before the date that license application is made; (ii) has good reason to believe that all the statements in the petition are true; and (iii) requests that the petition be approved and that the license be issued. (b) The applicant shall verify the petition by affidavit made before a notary or the clerk of the circuit court.
