Temporary animal shelter

The department may temporarily impound animals within an enclosure other than a licensed animal
shelter, and such an enclosure constitutes a temporary animal shelter. When animals are held at a
temporary animal shelter for more than 21 days, the shelter must comply with the standards established
by the department for licensed animal shelters. [PL 2007, c. 702, §7 (NEW).]
