In addition to controls required in this chapter, municipalities may extend or adopt zoning and
subdivision controls to protect any public rights for physical and visual access to the shoreline. [PL

Zoning ordinances adopted or extended pursuant to this section shall be pursuant to and consistent
with a comprehensive plan. [PL 1985, c. 794, Pt. A, §9 (NEW).]
