1. Annual renewal. An optometrist licensed by the board shall pay annually, before the first day
of April, to the board a license renewal fee not in excess of $600, as established by the board under
section 19202.

2. Late fee. A license may be renewed up to 90 days after the date of expiration upon payment of
a late fee as established by the board, in addition to the annual renewal fee.
A. A licensee who fails to renew a license for more than 90 days but fewer than 2 years after the
date of expiration, may reinstate the license without taking any examination required by the board
by filing a new application for renewal, providing evidence of all continuing education credits due
and paying the late fee and renewal fee. [PL 2023, c. 580, §8 (NEW).]

B. An individual who fails to renew a license for 2 years or more from the date of expiration may
obtain a new license by satisfying all the requirements for licensure in this chapter. [PL 2023, c.
