Claimant convicted of forgery, fraud, deception or falsification forfeits restitution

1. Conviction in connection with claim. A claimant convicted of any crime involving forgery,
fraud, deception or falsification in connection with a claim made under this subchapter forfeits any
restitution assistance award paid to the claimant under this subchapter.

2. Civil action for recovery. The administrator may request that the Attorney General bring a
civil action in accordance with section 16603 to recover funds awarded to a claimant convicted of any
crime involving forgery, fraud, deception or falsification in connection with a claim made under this
subchapter.
