Maintaining an unprotected well

1. A person is guilty of maintaining an unprotected well if, being the owner or occupier of land
on which there is a well, he knowingly fails to enclose the well with a substantial fence or other
substantial enclosing barrier or to protect it by a substantial covering which is securely fastened.

2. Maintaining an unprotected well is a Class E crime.
