1. Violation of chapter or rules; general penalty. Except as otherwise specifically provided, a
person, firm, association or corporation that violates a provision of this chapter or a rule of the Gambling
Control Unit prescribed by authority of this chapter commits a civil violation for which a fine of not
more than $1,000 may be adjudged.

2. Commercial beano hall violations. A person, corporation, partnership or unincorporated
association that rents or leases a building or facilities to hold, conduct or operate "beano" or "bingo"
commits a Class E crime if that person, corporation, partnership or unincorporated association:
A. Rents or leases a building or facilities to hold, conduct or operate a "beano" or "bingo" game
without a commercial beano hall permit issued by the Gambling Control Unit; or [PL 2017, c.

B. Violates a provision of this chapter or a rule adopted by the Gambling Control Unit pursuant to

Violation of this subsection is a strict liability crime as defined in Title 17-A, section 34, subsection
4-A.
