Fines, distribution

All fines levied and collected for violations of this chapter shall be distributed as follows: [PL
1975, c. 739, §15 (NEW).]
If the fine resulted from a complaint by a law officer of a state agency which receives a major share
of its financial support from dedicated revenue, the fine, less court costs, shall be reimbursed to that
agency; or [PL 1975, c. 739, §15 (NEW).]
If the fine resulted from a complaint of a law officer of a state agency supported primarily by a
General Fund appropriation, the fine, less court costs, shall be reimbursed to the department to be used
in an anti-litter educational program and shall be in addition to other General Fund money appropriated
for that purpose. [PL 1989, c. 878, Pt. B, §13 (AMD).]
