Maine Code § 14-1512

State liable in civil action

When a defendant prevails against the State in a civil action, judgment for his costs shall be
rendered against it and the treasurer of the county shall pay the amount on a certified copy of the
judgment. The amount shall be allowed to him in his account with the State.
