The director may go on any land for the purpose of surveying, inspecting or detecting the presence of a forest insect or disease which may, in the judgment of the director, pose a danger or public nuisance to the shade, ornamental and forest trees of the State. [PL 1979, c. 545, §3 (NEW).] The director may do any work involved in ascertaining the presence of these organisms. If survey work involves the use of so-called "trap" material on developed lands, the landowner shall be notified of the intent to go on the land. [PL 1979, c. 545, §3 (NEW).]
