1. Commissioner's authority. The commissioner may:
A. Authorize, alter and remove the screening of any inland waters; and [PL 2003, c. 414, Pt. A,

B. Prohibit fishing within 500 yards of any screen installed by authority of the commissioner or

2. Tampering with screen. A person may not take up, destroy or injure any screen installed
pursuant to this section, unless the person is duly authorized by the commissioner.

3. Penalty. The following penalties apply to violations of subsection 2.
A. A person who violates subsection 2 commits a civil violation for which a fine of not less than
$100 nor more than $500 may be adjudged. [PL 2003, c. 655, Pt. B, §298 (NEW); PL 2003, c.

B. A person who violates subsection 2 after having been adjudicated as having committed 3 or
more civil violations under this Part within the previous 5-year period commits a Class E crime.
