A. It is the policy of this state to encourage the peaceable resolution of disputes and the early resolution of pending litigation through compromise, with special consideration given to disputes involving the parent-child relationship, including disputes over the custody and support of a child. B. If a provision of this Part conflicts with another provision of Louisiana law and the conflict cannot be reconciled, this Part prevails. C. In applying and construing this Part, consideration shall be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among states that enact a collaborative law process for family law matters.
