Reptile and amphibian collector's license; scientific collector's permit

A. All persons engaged in the sale of native reptiles and amphibians collected in Louisiana must possess one of the following licenses: (1) A resident must possess a resident collector's license at a cost of fifty-five dollars. (2) A nonresident must possess a nonresident collector's license at a cost of four hundred twenty dollars. (3) Residents under eighteen years of age shall be required to possess a collector's license at a cost of ten dollars. B. Persons engaged in legitimate herpetological research may request from the secretary a scientific collector's permit. No fee shall be charged for such a permit. No specimens obtained under this permit may be sold. C. A violation of this Section is a class three violation.
