A. The secretary may annually submit a proposal to provide cost-sharing incentives to nutria trappers on lands determined to be eligible under R.S. 56:282 for approval by the Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Authority, not to exceed fifty thousand dollars annually. If approved, only that portion of the economic incentives paid to trappers on eligible lands may be funded using monies from the Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Fund. No other costs associated with the program shall be borne by the Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Fund. B. The purposes of this program shall be consistent with the purposes set forth in the Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Plan.
