A. The United States flag and the state flag shall be flown at the state capitol in accordance with R.S. 49:152 and 153, and any other flag shall be flown at the state capitol as provided by law. B. The governor shall order that all flags flown above the state capitol shall be flown at half-mast during the period of mourning following the death of a sitting or former state legislator, or following the death of a sitting or former statewide elected official. The period of mourning is defined as the day of death and the day following the death.
