Prosecutions

Prosecutions for violations of this Chapter may be by affidavit made in the name of the state. This affidavit may be made by the commissioner, by any officer of the Division of State Police or other authorized representative. Attorney General of the State, the district attorneys of the parish wherein the prosecution is sought, or the special attorneys of the commissioner or of the Division of State Police shall prosecute the same, and render all necessary legal advice and assistance in the enforcement of this Chapter. Except as may be otherwise provided in this Chapter, prosecutions for violations of this Chapter shall, in all matters and things, be had and done under the laws of this state relative to misdemeanors.
