Special prestige license plates; Louisiana largemouth bass

A. The secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall establish a special prestige license plate to be known as the Louisiana largemouth bass plate provided there is a minimum of one thousand applicants for the plate. The license plate shall be restricted to passenger cars, pickup trucks, vans, boat trailers, and recreational vehicles. The plate shall be of a color and design selected by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, provided that it is in compliance with R.S. 47:463(A)(3) and shall bear a logo with a picture of a largemouth bass. B. The charge for this special license plate shall be twenty-six dollars, which shall be assessed every two years, and shall be in addition to the regular fee charged under the provisions of R.S. 47:463 and a handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents to be retained by the department to offset a portion of administrative costs. C. The monies received from the additional twenty-six-dollar fee shall be annually disbursed to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation and used solely for the production and stocking of Florida bass. D. The secretary shall establish such rules and regulations as are necessary to implement the provisions of this Section.
