§236. Administration of emergency assistance to needy families with children In order to extend and improve services, aid, and care to needy children and needy families with children in this state, and in order to take full advantage of existing federally funded programs on a matched basis, the Department of Children and Family Services shall be the agency of the state of Louisiana to cooperate with the United States and to administer Title IV-A, Sections 403 and 406 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 603 and 606) or any amendments thereto, relating to emergency assistance to needy families with children, and to receive and expend federal moneys for these services. NOTE: §236 as amended by Acts 2025, No. 478, eff. Oct. 1, 2027. §236.
