Civil penalties for illegal payments

When the results of an investigation conducted pursuant to this Part indicates that a violation of R.S. 42:1117 has occurred, and after an adjudicatory hearing on the matter, the Ethics Adjudicatory Board may order the payment of a penalty by any person who violates R.S. 42:1117. The penalty shall be limited to an amount not in excess of ten thousand dollars. Any appeal of such final decision by the Ethics Adjudicatory Board shall be to the Court of Appeal, First Circuit, pursuant to R.S. 42:1142. Acts 1979, No. 443, §1, eff.
