As used in this Subpart, the following terms have the meaning ascribed in this Section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) "Contact" is a sex-sharing or needle-sharing partner, a person who has had contact with blood or body fluids to which universal precautions apply through percutaneous inoculation or contact with an open wound, non-intact skin, or mucous membrane, or a person who has otherwise been exposed to an HIV-infected person in such a way that infection may have occurred as defined by the Louisiana Department of Health regulations based upon guidelines of the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (2) "HIV-related test" is a test which is performed solely to diagnose infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). (3) "HIV test result" is the original document, or copy thereof, transmitted to the medical record from the laboratory or other testing site the result of an HIV-related test. The term shall not include any other note, notation, diagnosis, report, or other writing or document.
