Board of commissioners, appointment; tenure; vacancies; compensation

A. The district shall be governed and controlled by a board of seven commissioners, each of whom shall be a qualified elector of Red River Parish residing within and owning property within the district. The members of the board of commissioners shall be appointed by the governor for a five year term. Any vacancy in the office of commissioner due to death, resignation, or any other cause shall be filled by the governor for the unexpired term. B. Members of the board of commissioners shall receive no compensation for their services. The board shall be domiciled at Coushatta, Louisiana. C. Each appointment by the governor shall be submitted to the Senate for confirmation.
