Certain persons employed as chiropractic assistants

A.(1) Any chiropractic assistant employed by a licensed chiropractor and actively engaged in the process of taking x-rays on or before September 1, 1983 shall be considered qualified to take chiropractic x-rays and may apply to the board for certification. (2) A certificate of proficiency in chiropractic x-ray procedure shall be granted such a person upon submission of a signed statement from the employing chiropractor confirming that the applicant has been satisfactorily employed for at least one year during which time he was actively engaged in the process of taking chiropractic x-rays and demonstrated proficiency in performing such a process. B. Any chiropractic assistant whose duties include the taking of x-rays and who does not meet the requirements set forth in R.S. 37:2828(B) shall have until March 1, 1985 to enroll in a course of study on x-ray function and safety that has been approved by the board. Such a course shall be completed, along with any other requirements for certification, no later than September 1, 1985.
