Chiropractic assistants performing chiropractic x-ray functions; certification; requirements; penalties

A.(1) Each chiropractic assistant who engages or attempts to engage in the taking of chiropractic x-rays in this state shall be certified as to their proficiency by the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. (2) Whoever violates this Subsection shall be fined not more than fifty dollars, and each day a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. B. The board shall certify and issue an appropriate certificate of proficiency to any chiropractic assistant who files with it a certified application therefor, accompanied by the payment of the fee fixed by law, together with evidence verified by oath and satisfactory to the board that he: (1) Is eighteen years of age. (2) Is a high school graduate or equivalent. (3) Has completed a course in x-ray function and safety approved by the board, including passage of a proficiency examination given in conjunction with the course.
