Ex officio notary public for the Sabine River Authority

A. Notwithstanding any provisions of the law relative to qualification for notaries public, the director of the Sabine River Authority may appoint one employee of the Sabine River Authority as ex officio notary public. B. Such ex officio notary public may exercise the functions of a notary public only to administer oaths, receive sworn statements, and execute affidavits, acknowledgments, and other documents, and shall be limited to matters within the official functions of the Sabine River Authority. C. All acts performed by such ex officio notary public authorized by this Section may be performed only in the parishes of Sabine, DeSoto, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Vernon and shall be performed without charge or other compensation. D. The director of the Sabine River Authority may suspend or terminate any appointment made pursuant to this Section at any time and separation from the employ of the Sabine River Authority shall automatically terminate the powers of such ex officio notary public.
