Possession of outboard motor with serial number removed prohibited

A. No person shall knowingly or intentionally possess an outboard motor or motorboat from which the manufacturer's supplied identification plates bearing the serial number or hull identification number have been removed or altered. B. An outboard motor or motorboat described in Subsection A shall be considered contraband and shall be disposed of as provided for in R.S. 15:41(B). C. Whoever violates this Section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars and cost of court.
