A.(1)(a) The local governing authority considering any action to be taken on an application for a zoning request affecting property within three thousand feet of the boundary of a military installation shall notify the commander of the installation at least ninety days in advance of taking such action. (b) The local governing authority shall publish notice of its intention to take action on an application for a zoning request pursuant to this Paragraph in the official journal of the local governing authority at least ninety days prior to taking such action. (2) The local governing authority considering any action to be taken on an application for a variance affecting property within three thousand feet of the boundary of a military installation shall notify the commander of the installation at least thirty days in advance of taking such action. B. As used in this Section, "military installation" shall include any base, military airport, camp, post, station, yard, center, home port facility for a ship, or any other military activity center that is under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Defense.
