A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a parish or municipality may pay a real estate broker's fee or commission to a real estate broker upon the offer and acceptance to purchase and sell property owned by the parish or municipality which the broker has assisted the parish or municipality in selling. B. The fee or commission shall be paid from the proceeds of the sale of the property, and the fee or commission shall not exceed ten percent of the final sales price.
