Installation or use of certain lamps prohibited

A. No person shall install upon or as part of the equipment of a motor vehicle, any head lamp, auxiliary or fog lamp, rear lamp, signal lamp, or reflector, or parts of any of the foregoing, which tend to change the original design or performance, unless the lamp or parts of the lamp is in compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, as adopted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. B. No person shall operate a motor vehicle that is equipped with any head lamp, auxiliary or fog lamp, rear lamp, signal lamp, or reflector, or parts of any of the foregoing, which tend to change the original design or performance, unless the lamp or parts of the lamp is in compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, as adopted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. C. An official inspection station shall be prohibited from issuing an official certificate of inspection to the driver of a motor vehicle that is in violation of this Section. D.(1) A first violation of the provisions of Subsection A or B of this Section shall be punishable by a fine of fifty dollars. (2) Each subsequent violation shall be punishable by a fine of an additional twenty-five dollars to the original fine.
