Examination of candidates for commission

A. Before receiving a commission in the active national guard pursuant to an original appointment or otherwise, an officer shall pass the prescribed examinations before a board appointed by federal authority in accordance with the laws of the United States of America and orders and regulations made pursuant thereto. B. No person shall be appointed or promoted in the Louisiana State Guard as a commissioned officer unless he passes the same examinations before a board appointed by the adjutant general. C. This Section does not apply to second lieutenants commissioned in accordance with R.S. 29:16.
