Employees, commissioned officers

A. The commissioner, subject to the limitation of any civil service law in effect, shall establish positions within his office and make appointments thereto; abolish positions; transfer duties between positions; or assign duties to, direct and control the work of, and transfer, promote, demote, remove, and otherwise change the status of employees subject to his jurisdiction. B. The commissioner shall appoint and commission officers within his office who shall be P.O.S.T.-certified and shall enforce the laws regarding the regulation and control of alcoholic beverages, may carry weapons concealed or exposed while in the performance of these duties, and shall be vested with the same authority and powers conferred by law upon regular law enforcement officers of this state.
