A. The committee shall have the power and authority to hold hearings, subpoena witnesses, administer oaths, require the production of books and records, and do all other things necessary to discharge its duties and responsibilities, including the power to punish for contempt and to initiate the prosecution, in accordance with the laws of this state, of any individual who refuses to testify or is charged with false swearing or perjury before the committee. B. The committee shall have the power, by the adoption of a committee resolution, to grant rewards to state agencies or to require the imposition of penalties upon state agencies, as provided in R.S. 39:87.1 et seq. The committee shall also have the power, by the adoption of a committee resolution, to recommend that the legislature provide for a reward or penalty for a state agency, as provided in R.S. 39:87.1 et seq.
