A. The commissioner or a member of his staff may make an examination of the affairs of any health maintenance organization as often as it is reasonably necessary for the protection of the interest of the people of this state, but not less frequently than once every five years. B. The commissioner or a member of his staff shall conduct all examinations in accordance with R.S. 22:1981 through 1995. Acts 1986, No. 1065, §1; Acts 1995, No. 1231, §1, eff.
