A. The qualifying period for candidates in a primary election shall close at 4:30 p.m. on the Friday after the opening of the qualifying period for candidates in the primary election or, if that Friday is a legal holiday, at 4:30 p.m. on the next day which is not a legal holiday. B. Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A of this Section, the qualifying period for candidates in a gubernatorial primary election and those in any special primary election to be held at the same time shall close at 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday after the opening of the qualifying period.
