A. In accomplishing the reapportionment authorized by this Subpart, each of said school boards may, by majority vote of said board as presently constituted, reestablish itself with not less than five nor more than fifteen members or the number presently authorized for that school board, whichever is the greater. Whenever the size of a school board is to be changed by reapportionment, the school board may submit the proposition of size to the people. B. School boards which reapportion under the provisions of this Subpart shall provide for the election of the members of the board for concurrent terms of four years, commencing at the earliest election date which does not require a reduction in the term of an incumbent member, and which will result in terms which coincide with the terms established by R.S. 17:52. To implement such four-year terms, the board may provide for shorter initial terms as necessary to result in the election of all members to four-year concurrent terms. C. Those school boards which have reapportioned under the provisions of this Subpart prior to the effective date of this Subsection shall provide for the election of the members of the board for concurrent terms of four years, commencing at the earliest election date which does not require a reduction in the term of an incumbent member, and which will result in terms which coincide with the terms established by R.S. 17:52. To implement such four-year terms, the board may provide for shorter initial terms as necessary to result in the election of all members to four-year terms. D. Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A of this Section or any law to the contrary, in accomplishing the reapportionment authorized by this Subpart, a school board in a parish with a population of between ninety thousand and one hundred five thousand persons according to the most recent decennial census shall, by majority vote of the board as presently constituted, reestablish itself with not less than five nor more than nine members. Whenever the size of a school board is to be changed by reapportionment, the school board may submit the proposition of size to the people.
