Report of taking of appeals; preparation of briefs

Each district attorney, in all civil cases in which the state is concerned and wherein appeals have been taken, shall immediately report in writing to the attorney general that the appeals have been taken and the time when they are returnable. When the appeals are returnable to an appellate court sitting at places other than the city of New Orleans, the written report shall be sent to the district attorney of the place where the court will hear the appeal. The district attorney shall prepare a brief for the case which he shall forward to the attorney general or district attorney who shall revise the brief for use in the appellate court.
