Aggravated assault upon a peace officer

A. Aggravated assault upon a peace officer is an assault committed upon a peace officer who is acting in the course and scope of his duties. B. Whoever commits an aggravated assault upon a peace officer shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars, or imprisoned for not less than one year nor more than ten years, with or without hard labor, or both.
