Transportation of water from St. Tammany Parish prohibited; penalties

A. No person, firm, corporation, public body, quasi-public body or political subdivision shall transport underground water or surface water from the parish of St. Tammany to any person, firm, corporation, municipality or city located outside of said parish; provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall not be construed to prohibit any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of selling or furnishing to consumers bottled water from wells which are situated within the said parish. B. Any violation of this law shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars or by a jail sentence of not more than six months, and each day of continued violation shall constitute a separate offense.
