Electrical appliances, sale without original factory serial number prohibited; penalty

A. No person shall offer to sell or cause to be sold or distributed, either retail or wholesale, new household appliances, such as radios, television sets, refrigerators, washing machines, ironers, dryers, gas or electric ranges, or air conditioners, without the appliance having the original factory serial number indicated thereon provided it is the custom of the manufacturer to place serial numbers on the appliances. B. Whoever violates this Section shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than ninety days, or both.
