A. The judge of the city court shall be licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana for at least five years previous to his election and be a qualified resident elector of the territorial jurisdiction of the court for at least two years prior to his election. B. In addition to the compensation paid by the state, as provided in R.S. 13:1874(E), the judge of the city court shall receive an annual salary of forty-eight hundred dollars, payable monthly on his own warrant, one half to be paid by the city of Breaux Bridge and one half by the parish of St. Martin.
