Louisiana Code § RS 13:2079.1

Lake Charles; Ward Three marshal; civil fees and costs; special account; compensation of deputy marshals

The Ward Three marshal of the city court of Lake Charles may deposit a portion of his salary derived from fees and costs of office collected in civil matters pursuant to R.S. 13:5807 into a special account, which account shall be in the name of and under the control of the marshal. The marshal is authorized to use funds in this account to supplement the salary a deputy marshal receives as compensation from the local governing authority and community policing and to defray operational expenses of the office and as may otherwise be useful and necessary for the proper conduct of the office of the marshal. Each individual deputy marshal shall be responsible for payment of any additional payroll taxes due on the supplemental salary received by him. In no event shall the salary of any deputy marshal exceed that of the Ward Three marshal of the city court of Lake Charles.
