Military service credit

A. Time served in the service of the United States Government during time of war shall constitute "service" in the said fire department as used in this Part. B. Credit for retirement benefits shall be granted for time served in U.S. Military Service during a time of war prior to the time the employee was employed by the Lake Charles Fire Department; provided that the maximum credit allowed toward retirement shall not exceed a period of three years, which credit may be applied only after completing twenty years of active service in the fire department. C. No employee of the Lake Charles Fire Department shall be entitled to any of the retirement benefits provided for in this Part if he is drawing a salary for employment in the Lake Charles Fire Department. Provided further if any employee is on retirement and drawing a pension from the Lake Charles Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund, said employee shall forfeit all pension benefits received from said fund if he should accept reemployment in the Lake Charles Fire Department for any reason.
