Removal of jury

A. The court may, and at the request of the state or a defendant shall, remove the jury from the courtroom when the court hears matters to be decided by the court alone. The court may remove the jury from the courtroom at any time when considered in the best interest of justice. B. The removal of the jury when the court is asked to make rulings on evidentiary matters is controlled by the Louisiana Code of Evidence. Acts 1988, No. 515, §3, eff.
