Issuance of subpoenas

A. The court shall issue subpoenas for the compulsory attendance of witnesses at hearings or trials when requested to do so by the state or the defendant. Clerks of court may issue subpoenas except as provided in Article 739. B. The court and the clerks of court are authorized to place their signatures by electronic means on all subpoenas issued pursuant to this Chapter.
