Chief of the district – Responsibilities, subject to directives and guidance from the board

The chief of the district, subject to directives and guidance from the board, shall be responsible for: (1) The hiring and discipline of all staff; (2) The creation of administrative, personnel, and operational policies, subject to the relevant federal and state administrative regulations and directives from the board; and (3) The preparation of plans for the distribution of personnel, apparatus, and e quipment for the board's approval to provide for the optimal provision of emergency services within the district.
