Kentucky Code § KRS 64.590

Compensation of officers and employees of political subdivisions or local governmental units or districts other than counties or cities, including school districts

In the case of any political subdivision or local governmental unit or district other t han a county or city, having a governing body or authority composed of more than one (1) member, such governing body or authority shall fix the compensation of every officer and employee of the political subdivision, local governmental unit, or district wh ose compensation is payable from the funds of the political subdivision, governmental unit, or district, except that in the case of officers elected by popular vote the same limitations and restrictions shall apply as are applicable under KRS 83A.070 to th e fixing of compensation of city officers elected by popular vote. Nothing in this section is intended to confer any power on any governing board or authority, with respect to the compensation of its own members, that it does not specifically possess under other statutes. This section applies to school districts, but is not intended to supersede any present provision of law relating to the fixing or payment of the compensation of teachers.
