(1) Physical evidence shall be obtained and utilized in the investigation of public offenses involving children in the same manner as it is obtained and utilized in the investigation of public offenses involving adults. (2) Except for fingerprint records, all records and physical evidence so obtained shall be surrendered to the court upon motion for good cause shown. All records, including fingerprint records, shall be subject to expungement in the manner provided in KRS 431.076 for circumstances specified therein. (3) The court shall, upon receipt of physical evidence, return any evidence which is not contraband and is not needed for further prosecution, to its lawful owner. The fingerprint cards created pursuant to KRS Chapters 600 to 645 shall be transferred pursuant to KRS 17.110.
