Procedure upon change in ownership of leased premises

(1) When there is a change in ownership in leased premises, the new owner shall furnish the Division of Real Properties, within the Department for Facilities and Support Services, with a copy of the deed or other instrument of conveyance by which the new owner acquired title to the property or the right to payment under the lease and other evidence in support of his claim to the payment of rent under the lease the Division of Real Properties may request. The Commonwealth shall change its records and redirect its rent payments accordingly. (2) When the agency occupying leased premises or the Finance and Administration Cabinet receives information that a change in ownership has occurred, payments of rent shall be suspended until the Division of Real Properties learns the ownership of the premises and determines who is entitled to the rent.
