(1) A person is guilty of desecration of venerated objects in the second degree when he intentionally: (a) Desecrates any public monument or object or place of worship; or (b) Desecrates in a public place the national or state flag or other patriotic or religious symbol which is an object of veneration by the public or a substantial segment thereof. (2) Desecration of venerated objects in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
