Badge or insignia for hospital employees

(1) All employees of a hospital who are licensed, registered, certified, or otherwise regulated under the laws of the Commonwealth shall wear a badge or other insignia indicating the person is a licensed, registered, certified or otherwise regulated health care provider, provided the badge or insignia does not violate sterile procedures. (2) No hospital licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall prohibit a person licensed, registered, certified, or otherwise regulated under the laws of the Commonwealth from wearing a badge or other insignia, provided the badge or insignia does not violate sterile procedures. No other information shall appear on the badge unless approved by the hospital chief executive officer, facility manager, or designee. (3) No hospi tal licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall demote, dismiss, suspend, or otherwise penalize any employee for reporting a violation of subsection (1) of this section to the cabinet.
