The government and control of the system is hereby vested in the board of trustees of the Kentucky Retirement Systems. The board shall carry out the provisions of KRS 16.510 to 16.652 in the same manner in which it administers the Kentucky Employees Retire ment System. In all matters concerning the administration of KRS 16.510 to 16.652, the same rights, duties, and obligations shall apply to the board, as now apply under the provisions of KRS 61.510 to 61.692, except that members of the board, when acting f or the State Police Retirement System, shall be paid a per diem of thirty dollars ($30) plus actual expenses.
